To
select the suitable equipment,
first, we need to know what is
to be crushed, that is to say,
the materials. The common
materials to be crushed are
granite, quartz, basalt,
limestone, river gravel, iron
ores and so on.

What is the stone hardness?
Different stones have different
Mohs¡¯ scale of hardness. For
instance, the Mohs¡¯ scale of
hardness of the limestone is 3
Mohs; the quartz 7 Mohs; marble
3-4.4 Mohs; basalt 5-6 Mohs.
Sometimes, the materials to be
crushed may come directly from
river, for example, river
gravel, and the hardness of
river gravel is very big. Of
course, the hardness of river
gravel depends on the actual
geographic conditions. As usual,
the bigger the hardness is, the
less the output of the suitable
will be from stone crushing
production line. On the
contrary, the more the output
is. So the hardness of the stone
is an important factor to be
considered.

output
Usually, the output of the stone
crushing production depends on
the customers¡¯ requirement. It
can manufacture from 20t/h to
800t/h of capacity. The output
is decided by the processing
capacity of stone crusher. The
amount of output is an important
factor to the input of the stone
crushing production line.
Generally, a 20t increase in the
output per hour means $33000
increase in the capital input.
The unit of output is t/h in the
crushing industries. There are
two ways to calculate the
output.
(1)By weight. Knowing the
processing capacity tons per
hour will be better. But under
the conditions of materials¡¯
volume and density, we can
calculate the output. For
example, the density of marble
is 3.5-4T/M3 and the output is
100 m³/T, we can know the output
is 350-400T/H.
(2) By the working hours. If the
customer gives the working hours
in a month or year, we still
need to confirm the working days
in a month or the working months
in a year, then the particular
working hours per day or month
will be calculated out.
3. Feeding size
Feeding size is the decisive
factor for the primary crushing.
In
the crushing mill, there are
varied sizes of stone after the
crushing. There also maybe clay
and waste products. If the
content of clay and waste
product is high, you need a
vibrating screen to separate the
stone materials and waste
products firstly. It is true
that the cost will rise. On the
contrary, you needn¡¯t to do the
screening. Then select the jam
crusher type as per the stone
volume.
4. Final product size
The customers should clearly
know the size and amount of the
final product. The more product
kind you need, the more screen
layers should have, the higher
the cost will be.
The finer of the final product
size means that more large stone
will be transferred back to the
jaw crusher for further
crushing. For example, the
processing capacity of the
vibrating screen is 250t/h,
perhaps 200t materials become
the final desirable product, the
remaining 50t will return back
and will be crushed again.
If
the final product size is sand
with 10mm below, then the
customer need to use sand making
machine. If clean sand is
needed, the sand washing machine
shall be included in the
production line.
The final product consists of
various sizes product. The
product requirements are size
ranges with percentage. For
example, : 0-10mm, 20%; 10-20mm,
30%, 20-30mm, 50%.
5.
How to choose crusher
manufacturer?
The following factors should be
considered carefully: First,
manufactures¡¯ strength,
reputation and scale; second,
manufactures¡¯ product quality,
technical level and maturity;
Third, visiting the work-site,
for work-site speaks loudest.
Finally, compare different
manufacturers. Visit carefully,
and do choose seriously.
