Polycarboxylate Type TypeAdditives
1.Products
Name: PCA®(I) CONCRETE
SUPERPLASTICIZER
Description:
PCA®(I)
concrete superplasticizer is a
polycarboxylate polymer-based
composite admixture. It is a liquid
which has the performances of high
range water reduction, excellent
slump retention and strengthening.
It is specially suitable to the
production of high-durability
concrete, self-compacting concrete,
high-compressive-strength concrete,
and high workability concrete. PCA
(I) superplasticizer is formulated
to comply with the following
specification for concrete
admixture: ASTM494, Type F; BS
EN934:2/3.2.3.
Features and Benefits:
1. High range
water reduction:
Tested according to
ASTM494, the water reduction rate
can be up to 35% at high dosage
rates.
2. High compressive
strengths:
It can improve
the compressive strengths of
concrete by 60-100% at the age of 3
days, 60-90% at the age of 28 days
and 30-50% at the age of 90 days.
3. High slump retention:
Almost no slump loss of the
concrete within 2 hours.
4. Excellent workability:
No bleeding or segregation,
no bleeding mark or obvious bubble
defect on the concrete surface.
5. Low alkali content:
alkali content is less than
1.8%
6. No chloride ions and
non-corrosion to steel bar
7. High durability:
It effectively improves the frost
resistance and carbonation
resistance of the concrete. It can
decreases drying shrinkage of the
concrete by 20% or more compared to
naphthalene-based admixture.
8. Dosage: The
addition rate of PCA®(I)
normally is 0.6~1.2% by weight of
cementitious materials, and can be
increased to 1.3~1.8% for ultra-high
strength and durability concrete.
Usage:
Don¨t mix with
naphthalene-based admixture. If
other admixtures, such as retarding
or corrosion-inhibiting admixture,
are required simultaneously for some
special projects, compatibility
tests should be conducted
beforehand.
After-sale Service:
To ensure desired
concrete performances, we offer
technical consulting service on the
design of concrete mix proportion
and experiment on optimization of
mix proportion. Our technical
personnel will provide on-site
directing service free of charge.
Packaging:
PCA (I) is normally
packaged 220Kg per barrel.
Other Info:
Mixing
PCA®(I) is a liquid
admixture to be added to the
concrete during the mixing process.
Optimum plasticizing effect and thus
water reduction is achieved if
PCA®(I) is added
immediately after 50 -80% of the
water. Avoid adding PCA®(I)
to dry aggregate or cement.
Compatibility
PCA®(I) can be used in
combination with the following
admixtures and additives
1. Air entraining admixtures to
optimize freeze/thaw durability
2. Silica Fume for higher density
3. Shrinkage compensating admixtures
4. Synthetic and Steel Fibres
5. Concrete Improvers
PCA®(I) is not compatible
with the traditional
hyperplasticisers with a naphthalene
sulphonate or melamine sulphonate
base condensed with formaldehyde.

2.Products
Name: PCA®(IV) High-range
Superplasticizer
Description:
PCA®(IV)
is a new generation superplasticizer
based on modified Polycarboxylic
ether. It provides maximal water
reduction, increased early strength,
and improved finishing
characteristics. PCA®(IV)
does not contain formaldehyde,
calcium chloride or any other
intentionally added chlorides and
will not initiate or promote the
corrosion of steel present in the
concrete. It is formulated to comply
with the following specification for
concrete admixture: ASTM494, Type F;
BS EN934:2/3.2.3.
Features
and Benefits:
1. High range water
reduction:
PCA®(IV)
can be dosed in small amounts to
obtain water reduction from 15 to
30%, and will achieve water
reduction up to 45% at high dosage
rates.
2. High Plasticity:
The superplasticizing action of PCA®(IV)provides
high-slump, flowing concrete that
maintains excellent workability and
may be placed with minimal vibration
even at very low water cement
ratio¨s as low as 0.25.
3. High compressive
strengths: Increases the
compressive strengths of concrete by
50-120% at the age of 3 days, 80% at
the age of 28 days and 30-50% at the
age of 90 days.
4. High durability:
Effectively improves the frost
resistance and carbonation
resistance of the concrete. Lower
drying shrinkage of the concrete by
20% or more compared to
naphthalene-based admixture.
5. High compatibility:
Compatible with a far
greater range of cement types and
mineral admixtures. Particularly fit
for the preparation of high
durability concrete and
self-compacting concrete with fly
ash and ground slag.
6. Good concrete appearance:
Improves surface appearance
of concrete obviously.
7. Dosage: The
addition rate of PCA®(IV)
is normally 0.5~0.7% by weight of
cementitious materials, and can be
increased up to 0.9% if more water
reduction or slump retention is
required.
